Excavation is now under way at the site of Worsley Urban Partners' Totem Condos, a new 18-storey, 120-unit condominium development coming to Dundonald Street, a block north of Wellesley just east of Yonge Street. Designed by architects RAW Design, the design of Totem is inspired its modernist predecessor, the Commercial Travellers’ Association of Canada Building that formerly occupied the site and served as the development's presentation centre prior to demolition.

Demolition of the former structure wrapped up earlier this summer, priming the site for the start of shoring and excavation work in preparation for the new construction.

Once the new development reaches structural completion, the rebuilt facade of the former Commercial Travellers’ Association of Canada Building will be incorporated into Totem's podium, living on in much closer proximity to the south side of Dundonald Street.

Once complete, residents at Totem will have access to amenity spaces appointed by interior designers UNION31, including a bar, lounge, dining room, and outdoor terrace on the second floor, as well as a terrace offering views of the surrounding neighbourhood.
