This week's Throwback Thursday covers one of Toronto's fastest-changing areas. The last few years have brought several new buildings to the area south of the Downtown Core, and new projects continue to add to the transforming landscape. Back on April 30, 2013, the area was abuzz with construction activity, as several cranes dotted the area skyline. At this time, a number of under-construction projects could be seen from the elevated pedestrian area on the east side of the Rogers Centre, including Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, the Southcore Financial Centre's Bremner Tower and the adjacent Delta Toronto, Ïce Condominiums, and Infinity Condos. In the distance, cladding installation progress was visible at the topped-off L Tower.

Just over three years later, all of the buildings mentioned above have been completed, while a few new ones have entered the landscape. In between the 57 and 67-storey towers of Ïce Condominiums, one of the two towers of the Harbour Plaza Residences can be seen, while slivers of the One York and RBC WaterPark Place III office towers are visible to the right of Ïce's west tower. A red-and-white-painted crane visible next to Infinity Condos marks the side of Ten York, on its way to a final height of 65 storeys.
