The urban condo lifestyle has grown to become the norm within the city limits of Toronto proper, though more traditional forms of housing remain the popular choice in many of the GHTA's other municipalities. Single and semi-detached subdivisions are still the leading typology in communities like Oakville, where cars move most of the population. Near Oakville's Trafalgar Road and Upper Middle Road intersection, construction is moving along at the site of Dunpar's Trafalgar Ridge, a community of 112 townhomes ranging in size from 1,940 ft to 2,800 ft².

Trafalgar Ridge consists of 11 blocks of three-storey towns, identified on the site plan as A through J. Block J is currently the furthest along, with cladding installation underway, while the wood-frame structures of blocks G and K—visible in the image above—are now taking shape.

Block J, situated at the west edge of the site fronting Lillykin Street, is now having its exterior finishes installed. The roof of the townhome block is now almost entirely covered in shingles, while custom natural Indiana limestone covers the southwest edge of the block. A scaffold currently covers the block's Lillykin Street frontage, where workers are in the process of applying brickwork to the attic level.

The rapid growth of Block J between late-April and late-July is evidenced in the animated GIF below.

In the coming months we can expect to see the wood-frame structures of the remaining blocks rise from their concrete foundations, which have been in place since the start of the year.

Units at Trafalgar Ridge will each offer three-bedroom layouts and two-car garages, putting residents within easy driving distance of Highway 407 to the north, and QEW/Highway 403 to the south. Residents depending on public transportation will be situated a short bus ride north of Oakville GO station, allowing easy commuting around the region.
